Fellow Flyers,

Our January meeting is Thursday January 20, 2011 at 7PM at the Marshall Municipal Airport meeting room. Our new officers for this year are Vince LaPorte – president, Bob Cole – treasurer and Dennis Brockberg – secretary. Dues for 2011 - $35 full membership and $10 social membership. You can send your dues to Bob at 613 Southview Drive, Marshall, MN 56258.

There is also a reduced cost for a second member of same family but I can't recall the charge.

This has been a busy winter for indoor flying at New Ulm old high school GYM and John Donovan monthly fun flys at Central Baptist Church GYM. There was even an open GYM fun fly in Lake Crystal, MN on January 16.

I have built four Blue Ray foam pylon racers and plan to travel to Cedar Fall, IA February 18, 20 to fly in the UNIDOME. The Blackhawk R/C Club has rented the UNIDOME for the weekend and has an open fun fly and several fun contests (Kostas will fly my planes in the pylon race). It looks like a nice winter break. Anyone interested can travel with Kostas and me.

It would be fun to sponsor our own pylon races with these little Blue Ray planes (cost two kits for $25). Additional cost would include: electric motor - $15, ESC - $15, lipo battery 1000 2S - $6, three servos $12, APC 7x5 prop - $2, links - $4 and glue.

Bring your winter project to the meeting. I will bring my Blue Ray racer – better view it before the big race as it may not survive the heat of battle.
