Canby Airshow - June 15th

president's notes

The Canby Airshow was a great success – lots of R/C Aircraft (includes helis) lots of fellow ship (pilots from Brookings, SD, Elkton, SD, Evan, MN, New Ulm, MN, Pemberton, MN and Marshall, MN). The RC Fun Fly ended abruptly at 11AM for the mandatory rain shower. Fortunately we ran for cover into the hangar containing two of the airshow planes and pilots.

Jame (Fang) Maroney told us about his DeHavilland Super Chipmunk – his own modifications and super paint scheme. See attached photo.

The other show pilot, Dick Schultz, was also interesting. He performs his airshow routines with his RC Pitts S2 before placing them in his airshow routine to see how they look for the crowd and how to perform them with the airplane controls.

Both pilots were Navy Pilots – see what good things your taxes do.

I want to thank all of the RC pilots who gave up Father's Day to help our club put on a great RC Demo.

Sincerely,

Vince LaPorte
